China to US Tariffs

General Items

Tariff Rate = Base Rate + Section 301 Tariffs (if applicable, 7.5% or 25%) + 20% (Trump administration's February ad valorem duties) + 34% (reciprocal tariffs).
This means the minimum tariff rate for most Chinese exports to the U.S. is 54% or higher.

Steel and Aluminum Items

All steel, aluminum, and related derivatives are subject to tariffs under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, as outlined in the following proclamations:

  • a. Proclamation 9704 (March 8, 2018, adjusted aluminum imports) and amendments;
  • b. Proclamation 9705 (March 8, 2018, adjusted steel imports) and amendments;
  • c. Proclamation 9980 (January 24, 2020, adjusted steel/aluminum derivatives) and amendments;
  • d. Proclamation 10895 (February 10, 2025, adjusted aluminum imports);
  • e. Proclamation 10896 (February 10, 2025, adjusted steel imports).

Steel/aluminum items are exempt from reciprocal tariffs. Their tariff rate formula is:
Base Rate + Section 301 Tariffs (if applicable) + 20% (February ad valorem duties) + 25% (steel/aluminum surcharge).

Automobiles and Auto Parts

All automobiles and auto parts are subject to Section 232 tariffs under Proclamation 10908 (March 26, 2025, adjusted auto imports).
Their tariff rate formula is:
Base Rate + Section 301 Tariffs (if applicable) + 20% (February ad valorem duties) + 25% (auto surcharge).

Note: If the Trump administration announces new tariffs or modifies existing policies, the actual rates at customs clearance shall prevail.
